This is a comparison to see how fast many minute I save when I boot from My Hold Western Digital 2TB changed to the APACER PANTHER AS340 1TB (960GB) (AP690GAS340-1)
This SSD from Apacer are budget oriented, the AS340 Panther 960GB Panther SSD retails at a very affordable price. I got this for RM: 410.00 Including Shipping in Jun 2019 at that time it was a great deal. It was the equivalent of $90.00 or €85.00 for almost a TERABITE.
I do Hope that now my PC will be able to run like a panther, an impression which Apacer wanted embedded into my mind when I will upgrade my current mechanical hard drive to the AS340 Panther SSD. Lightning it is what came to me, but well. They do claim it will be
“”20X faster than HDD During start-up”” You can see it at the link below
’
Although Apacer didn’t specifically mention the read and write speed of the AS340 Panther SSD on the packaging, but just so you know, the 960GB variant is capable of 500 MB/s read and 375 MB/s write, and the 240GB variant is capable of 505 MB/s read and 410 MB/s write.
I have to do either the standard test with CrystalDiskMark , or, maybe the Anvil’s Storage Utilities, as, not only it comes with the standard SSD Benchmark function, but, it also includes other functions such as endurance testing and threaded I/O read, write and mixed tests and option to configure the compressibility of the test data, We will see if I have the time maybe both.
RESULTS:
APACER =00:47.5 Sec.
Western Digital = 01:41.5 Mn
I save 101.5 – 47.5 = 54 Seconds not exactly The 20x start-up as they said.
Pros
• Very competitive pricing
• Decent performance
• Comes with a standard 3-year warranty
Cons
• No extra accessories provided
• No technical specifications on the box
• Doesn’t comes with any SSD software as far as I know(although You can download their suit from their page).
