If you're wondering about how loud it is, please bear in mind that in this video I have a shotgun mic pointed almost directly at it and it's on a light wooden table. When shooting in an interview setup I never hear it!

Solid review Mr O'Dwyer. Will look to grab one of these soon and will try out the affiliate link as well 👍

Amazing review, I was looking for something like this.

Aaargh! You convinced me to buy this but it's not available in the UK! Proper shame.

Fantastic review. Interesting, informative and well presented. On my search for an affordable motorized slider I keep coming across sponsored biased videos and it's been hard to find one that seems honest . I think this may be the slider for me! Thanks.

Great review David. Do you know if you can pause and then resume a timelapse mid-way through without affecting the shot? Thanks!

Hi there, do you still use this slider? Did it held up okay?

How is the "Tracking shooting" on this model? I am sending back a Neewer version as the centred subject ends up completely off screen when you adjust the centre bar (And no, I'm not adjusting it in the wrong direction). On your footage it doesnt look like the subject/you stay all THAT centred, but it looks better than on my Neewer.

Great video thank you. I did pull the trigger on the GVM because of this video.

This slider is absolute TRASH!!! My company purchased one in 2019 and we returned it within the Amazon return window. Seriously, don't cheap out on your video gear. You'll end up paying for it in the long run.

Can you shoot vertical movements using this slider (put it on the fluid head then tilt it)?

Hello David, can this slider works with iPhone as well. or for mobile and GoPro we should use some other slider. if so, please suggest. thank you.

Cheers for this lad. Was wondering how good this kit was. Think I’m sold.

    WOW!!! Must try this

The 60 cm track is a good median  The length is long but still compact enough to take on the road with me.◉◉>share4.photo/SliderCam?Zぬu Adjustable legs that fold in and out, no slip and supportive. The railing is smooth with no bumps or grinds while running up and down it. Can go fast or slow at my own pace so it’s easy to control. The motion is spectacular and the dolly is more than durable.

Hey Bro, thanks for the video bro. Really helpful. Wanted to know which model would be the best to buy, is the 3ft one good for most work? Or does one need to get the 5ft one

  • comment-avatar

I wish it had a wireless remote

  • comment-avatar

    Is ramping a little jerky?

  • comment-avatar

Awesome review! Quick question about the slider: Can you turn the camera to face in the direction of the track? Or will the slider obstruct the view too much? I’d love to get a shot where the camera moves directly toward an object in front of it.

can you plug the controller into the wall with a 9v power supply rather than using battery?

    i have a sony a6100. can i use this on it ?

Been thinking about this one after the Neewer version was trash for my liking. The motor made such a high pitch freq that it was useless for interviews. This motor is not as loud but it's still audible. The one thing u get with Rhino and edelkrone is 100% silent motors. I'm really hesitant about this GVM.

  • comment-avatar

Thanks for this review. I'm also looking for a Rhino replacement. GVM has the right pricing, for sure…so I'm willing to overlook the less-than-great interface and other minor issues.

This video is exactly what I was looking for. Great job!

OUTSTANDING video tutorial, Thank you so much! I'm using it for Music Videos and Interviews. You're very, very good at splaing stuff!!!

  • comment-avatar

I'm curious about if make it longer (like 6 feet) if the motor could still be programed for those distances? also wondering if I could hang it up side down with something light like a go-pro?

  • comment-avatar

    Great review, man!

  • comment-avatar

The motor skipping is not actually grinding any gears, most stepper motors don't have any gears. It is just the motor losing steps.

I have the GP-80QDII (newer version) and the motor makes some high pitch hissing sounds, is that to be expected?
