Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 33 with pulmonologist & critical care specialist Roger Seheult, MD of

Dr. Seheult illustrates how medications like remdesivir may work on a cellular level to stop viral replication. South Korea has now tested almost 200,000 people for COVID-19 as the rest of the world lags behind and may be experiencing “the tip of the confirmed coronavirus cases iceberg.”

  2. Why is there no information about using high doses Vitamine C infusion!?!? It seems to work for patients in China.who where olmost dead and now feeling better.

  3. Another thing is that the demographics of the positive cases in South Korea do not represent the general population. 30% of the cases are those in the 20s since the outbreak in the country was largely led by the religious sect Shincheonji. The followers of the sect are mostly females in their 20s or 30s. I'm curious about the demographics of the infected in the other countries such as Italy where death tolls are much higher at this moment.

  4. I would agree with your logic about South Korea in the beginning ! But not anymore ! Something is wrong with S Korea numbers ! With time death should increase but in this case it freezes ! Is it because health care are the best in the world or they stop providing the number of death ?? !!!

  5. If Remdesivir ends up proving to be an effective treatment, I say we name a global holiday after it. Remdesivir day.

  6. Speculation. Nobody even knows if there will be seasonal suppression yet.

That said, even if under control now (which it isn’t) it would take months to clear up the mess.

  7. In Romania if at the end of march we don't have more than 250 cases of infected and no deaths it would give hope, still I'm surprissed that alot of people they go to the special section from the hospitals, now we have kindergardens, highschools and schools closed for almost 2 weeks,if the situations get worse this will continue, what it's bad is that almost after the infections started in Italy some romanians got back home without being tested, also a bad thing is that not all the cities in Romania didn't suspended university classes.

  8. in italy 10% of patients are diagnosed with bilateral interstitial pneumonia. ICU is full, doctors and nurses are on the verge of collapsing, a lot of them are infected too and afraid to go to their families. all countries take measures now!

  9. Could anyone please explain what aggressive testing mean? I'm a foreigner and it's quite difficult for me to get this term. Thank you!

  10. @MedCram – Medical Lectures Explained CLEARLY
I'm reading no immunity from JHU, does no mean no, or does no mean none right now? Can you please clarify, I don't want to spread misinformation.

  11. Ok so why does Italy have many more times the dead/critically ill compared to South Korea?
Higher real number of infected, different strain of the virus being deadlier or difference in population age?
Are there reliable numbers out there of deaths by age?

  12. You won't do anything good with panic. Prepare for the worst and dont let negative thinking win! Stress affects your immune system!

  13. My only wish for my birthday this april is to find a cure and stop corona virus 🙁 its a very bad start for our 2020

  14. If Remdesivir disturbs DNA transcription, why doesn't it disturb normal cell reproduction? Is RNA exclusively used by viruses? How does this work without causing damage to the organism?

  15. Lol … People be like worshipping the corona virus like its a god , jokes … I'll put coronas name to the test

  16. Never do you panic or exaggerate this issue. You have the mature attitude of a grown up and a professional despite being on the front lines, that should tell us a lot about the fear mongers on other channels who couldn't be further from the frontlines with any IRL perspective

  17. You are a brilliant doctor! It is professionals like you who will bind together and defeat this disease…thank you God for creating you!

  18. This whole time I was wondering how he was producing all this content alone! Now it all makes sense!! You guys are doing a fantastic job at medcram!!

  19. It would be nice if we could take a quiz on these videos because I have learned so much over the last month.I watch every day.

  20. We're not gonna be able to get medical supplies from china (masks, and medicines for all other diseases,) significantly more people are going to die from other things than just this disease

  21. Oh … so it's not a pandemic yet? AS OF 3/9, ALL OF ITALY IS UNDER QUARANTINE.
But thanks for the helpful biochemistry explanation. Very well done.

  22. This is amazing. Is there natural beneficial metabolic processes RDP may interrupt in addition to the viral rna replication that may harm the host?
