thanks for this video although it didn't help me. i have a s7 and i was wondering why my data couldnt just dump over into my sd card. my father in law has a on5 phone and he wanted me to put in his new sd card so his data could just transfer over. i tried everything and i guess its the same as my s7 that its not adoptable without disabling it. the thing with his phone it only has 8gig internal memory but its like 4 gigs used up by apps that came with the phone 3 gigs are just some basic apps like yahoo and pictures and his phone is telling him that he has no more memory. he also cant update anything because of no space. guess i will tell him that his phone sucks

Hey Jeff, I'm hoping you or someone else can help me with my issue. The first issue I ran into was software options. I switched usb cables but nothing. So I cannot apply software options. I noticed in your comments you said to try MTP and if I ran into a problem to turn USB debugging on and off. I did and no solution. The issue I ran into here is when I type "adb shell" the line on the bottom isn't beginning with the word "shell." I've noticed in your tutorial and others that once they press enter after "adb shell" the next line begins with shell@. I am not getting that response. Please, I need help.

does private mean that the phone is only going to use the sd card alone? like only 64gb of storage? mixed 50 it integrates both micro sd and internal storage making it 32+64 = 96 gb?

So when attempting to format the micro sd card as an internal storage through adb shell…I run the command <sm partition disk:179,32 private> (172,32 is the micro sd device) and the output was "error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: command '59 volume partition disk:179,32 private' failed with '400 59 Command failed'"?
Any info would be much appreciated
