Install the google usboem driver for android sdk/debug bridge adb fastboot/bootloader on Windows 8 PC for device manager to work with Nexus One, Nexus S or any Google Nexus android device. If you are developing on Windows and would like to connect your android device to test applications then you need to install the correct driver which would be the Google USB Driver OR the OEM USB Driver. If you’re developing on Mac OS X or Linux, you probably do not need to install the USBOEM driver. The one exception is the Galaxy Nexus. The driver for Galaxy Nexus is provided by Samsung as model SCH-I515 and windows drivers for all other devices are provided by the hardware manufacturer as OEM USB Drivers. A Link to the android web site is provided below for several original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), where you can download the OEM drivers and read the instructions found at here you can download the appropriate USB driver for your android device.

Why does this app need so much
Didn't work for me. I did method 2 but, when I connect my Nexus 5x and, I direct windows to the USB Driver folder, it won't install anything. Then, I go into Device manager after I close up the wizard and the Nexus 5X entry with the question mark is not longer there and there were 2 other entries ADB interface and MTP, both with question marks next to them. I have MTP installed both manually (from Microsoft downlaod) but also because I have Windows Meda Player 11. I transfer songs to my mp3 player fine on that protocol. Anyhow, I was able to update the ADB interface by directing the wizard to the USB folder. The wizard did an install of that but, I cannot get it to update the MTP entry with the question mark. BTW, Nexux 5X is on MTP and also USB debugging. Anyhow, if you have some time and any ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks.

Hey there, I was doing this for the Amazon Fire 8", but whenever I attempt to download the Google USB Driver, I just get an error message saying "The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems" I've seen other people do it with no problem, could you help me?
Help! "Other Devices" doesn't show up!
Thanks mate Worked perfectly
How to install this folder Development?
I just purchased a 9" Google android 4.4 tablet for my grandson for Christmas the model number is a F900 when I go into devise manager you can see its in the yellow witch indicates that something is missing so I uninstalled it as to get a fresh start plugged it into the usb and searched Microsoft for the missing driver then it says error code 28 there is no driver for this devise does anyone know where I can find this driver. I would be very grateful to you for all your help as my grandson went crazy when he unwrapped it he's only 8 years old so I am trying my hardest to get it up and running for him. thank you all. merry Christmas. ben..
