Mi Pad 4 8″ Case I Can Recommend:

Android 9.0 CarbonROM:

MIUI 10 EU ROMS:

(Install “no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip” with MIUI ROMS”

————————————————
Step 1 – Unlock Bootloader
————————————————

-1.1 First link your tablet to a Xiaomi Mi Account by logging into it
To do that goto your My Device Section in the settings, tap the MIUI Version until it gives you developer access, then goto the new developer options menu under additional settings
Enable OEM Unlocking and open up the Mi Unlock Status window and login
-1.2 Shut down your tablet And Power it up holding down the power and volume down buttons till you get to the fast boot screen
-1.3 Grab your Type-C cable and plug in into a reliable USB port on your computer
-1.4 Run the “miflash_unlock.exe” that is found in the step 1 folder
-1.5 Login into the same Xiaomi Mi Account you loged on your tablet
-1.6 Click Unlock Anyway, Twice
(If you are really lucky it will unlock in a couple days if not you will have to wait however many hours it tells you to wait)
(For me it was 360 Hours which was 2 weeks worth 😐 – You can try again every couple days to see if you get through, but don’t over do it)
-1.7 Once the waiting time is over, repeat Step 1.2 and you should get through just fine 🙂

————————————————
Step 2 – Install TWRP Recovery
————————————————

2.1 Shut down your tablet and power it back on again holding down the power and volume down buttons till you get to the fastboot screen
2.2 Then go ahead and run the “twrp-installer.bat” file and follow the prompts
2.3 Once done it should automatically reboot it self into the twrp recovery menu
2.4 At this point the hard part is done and if you have ever rooted a android device you know what to do if not stick around

————————————————
Step 3 – Installing Roms
————————————————

3.1 Go ahead and plug the tablet into your computer & navigate to it’s directory
3.2 Do a regular wipe
3.3 Then Copy over the “UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip” zip file and what ever rom you would like onto the tablet root directory for quick access
3.4 Start by flashing the rom & what ever other zip files it needs, here I installed the pico google apps package for android 9.0
3.5 After you are done that you can next flash the “UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip” zip file
3.6 Reboot, set up the tablet and you are pretty much done!

————————————————
Finished
————————————————
Problems & Fixes:
————————————————

Problem: Not Being Able To Detect/Do Fastboot TWRP Flash
Fix: Disable Windows Signed Driver Enforcement

– Right Click Start Menu
– Click Shutdown & Sign Out
– Hold Shift & Click Restart Till You See It Saying “Please Wait”
– Click Troubleshoot.- Click Advanced options
– Click Startup Settings
– Click on Restart
– On the Startup Settings screen press 7 or F7 to disable driver signature enforcement.

————————————————

Problem: TWRP Asking For A Password
Fix: Skip the pass screen, do a regular wipe

– Tap Wipe, Slide, Restart
If that doesn’t work then
– Install any ROM using the SD Card Slot & It should fix it self
Why SD? Because it locks you out from transferring files using the USB

Don’t panic it’s a normal common issue with TWRP
Which should get fixed pretty soon now that development is catching some steam

Hi, after the wipe my Mi Pad doesn't appear on my computer anymore. I do hear the sound of it connecting via USB but I don't see it anymore. Rebooting also puts me either in a loop (regular) or in fastboot (holding volume down). How do I reboot back in TWRP?

Life Kommando I have already an unlock mi pad 4. I skip the part for unlocking. I run twrp-installer.bat. I copied UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 and flash it like you did. When I reboot it gets stuck. I noticed that you have empty storage in the mi pad. I dont have empty storage. I can see the folders etc. Do I have to do sth or delete them? please help me I dont know what to do. I think I bought a useless device.

Is it normal after flashing it takes a long time to boot?

  • comment-avatar

Apart from being ridiculously fast, it misses out the important part about installing Fastboot and USB drivers.

  • comment-avatar

Um, there isn't a Mi Unlock Status window on my Mi Pad 4

Too fast… I got to download your video and then run it through a slow motion. But it did work. Thanks a bunch… Manage to update my MI Pad 4 Plus…

Hi I wiped the device and now when i try to copy zip files there is no internal storage. IT has gone ! I think lost mounts. How can i fix that ?

  • comment-avatar

I get a bootloop if I install no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip reboot and then install UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip and reboot. Am I doing anything wrong? Only way to fix it was to wipe and install MIUI 10 EU ROMS. But I cannot succeed in installing SuperSU.

Also make sure to use latest miui unlocker application, the one given does not work on latest miui 10 i think.

Mine is LTE version. As you mentioned, this won't work for sim, mean not suit mine device

  • comment-avatar

i watched this on 0.25 speed at the twrp part xD

  • comment-avatar

I hate how Xiaomi makes you wait for the bootloader unlocking process. Other 'bigger' manufacturers like LG heavily discourages bootloader unlocking, but yet none of them make you actually wait for it. Like what is even the point of that, Xiaomi??

  • comment-avatar
