While the OCZ ARC 100 240gb fits firmly into mainstream pricing, the feature set looks far more enthusiast aimed. The OCZ ARC 100 uses the same Barefoot 3 M10 controller coupled with A19nm Toshiba MLC NAND that can be found in the Vector 150 and Vertex 460, only with a slight speed reduction.

As we have seen this combination offers blazing mixed workload performance feeling no ill effects from incompressible data. The ARC 100 is housed in a 7mm casing for increased compatibility, while the Barefoot 3 supports TRIM and uses advanced wear leveling for increased endurance. The OCZ SSD Toolbox works seamlessly with the ARC 100 providing access to TRIM on demand, firmware updates and advanced drive data. OCZ’s ShieldPlus Warranty backs the ARC 100 for 3-years, and even includes advance replacement for any drives with factory defects.

So I love ocz and I have the vertex4 and vector150.
Don't understand why warranty isn't like the Samsung pro drives gives 10years warranty
I love OCZ drives. I have 3 vertex 3, 2 vertex 4, 1 vector and the only one to die was the vector after 2 years of use. Sent back for warranty no issues. I'd only buy OCZ or Samsung as they are fast and reliable.
I am redoing a Compaq F780US that was shipped with Vista, 1.9 AMD Duel Core 1Gb DDR2 – 800, 120Gb SATA1 to Win 8.1×64 w startisback and 3 Gb DDR2 – 800. The question is it also has a SATA 1 controller, will this drive work in reverse compatibility mode??? 120Gb is not enough living space, especially when I would like to include a recovery image. 240Gb with obvious performance improvement would be nice. It is going to roommates mother in Canada.
Just ordered 2 of these for about $72 each. Hope they live up to the hype.
Good job HTL. Thumbs up number 22, coming up.
Ok..so basically unless you find this EXACT ssd for around 33 cents per GIG, it's crap compared to what is already out on the market. Gotcha.
Thank you for a consist review of this model. A store in my town has it now for 110 American $ so I will probably buy one.
And OCZ mastered the art of destroying SSDs
seems to be close to the Vertex performance.
