Samsung has released its first SATA-based QLC – sorry, 4-bit MLC – SSD. That’s the high-density NAND memory tech destined to make old school hard drive storage a thing of the past. With big SSDs available at a bargain price, why would you still spin those platters, and what’s the catch?

Beware of QLC everybody is talking about the write speed collapse.
My QVO from samsung 2Tb has slow READ speeds on various video file extensions.
I have tried everything from different cables, complete reformat and changing bios options.
Doesn`t work It`s the drive 265 mbs with mkv, 175 mbs with mov. Full speed with just data files or raw fotos.
Nobody ever mentions this. It`s tested with all files written to a ultra fast ramdrive.
thought the guy on the left was gabe from the office
You guys should sit when you’re both on screen like Hardware Unboxed does. Height difference doesn’t look good
Is this good for 90
would this SSD work on a Dell G7 7790 gaming lapop?
111
110
110
superb breakdown
Not at that price lmao
End of the hard drive?! In my country I can buy a 4TB HDD for 90€ and the 860 QVO TB costs 550€!! For 490€ I could but a 14TB disk… It's still not the end of HDD…. for now!
The ssd that should not be made because its writing speeds decrease.
I had a silicon power ssd thats somehow bigger than this stupid samsung.
953gb instead of 931gb.
So beware if you want to use an offline clone single touch device it wont work as its not a 1tb drive either. Computer geeks may know this, but normal computer people with basic knowledge may not be aware they arent 1tb drives at all.
I bought this SSD accidentally, i actually wanted a regular 860 EVO and i ended with that QVO version and so far so good, i can't complain about it but i do wish these companies give us more information about all these products and different technologies: "SLC, MLC, TLC, QLC", which by the way are not really properly advertised on much SSD packaging :/
Will this SSD work on my late TOSHIBA satellite 2013 L855 B511?
860 qvo 1TB: WD10 + some game.
970 evo M2: 1TB for new or heavy games with alot mods.
Old WD 7200rpm 1T HDD: realy old games and to store mods and other things
Thanks guys. Great, honest video that is very informative.
My ssd died yesterday and bought a qlc 1tb today locally, couldn't wait 4 days to get the evo version and the local evo 860's were way too expensive compared to online stores. I knew the 860 qvo wasn't as good but i probably won't notice it for gaming/everyday use. The only thing that bugged me when i entered my pin code on purchase is knowing about the 3 vs 5 year warranty of the evo. Life…
Clear and straight to the point. Great video!
You guys are REALLY good with clear, informative content. Thanks!
Great video. I’m tempted to get the 4TB QLC drive as a Steam drive since it’s still significantly better than a 7200rpm HDD for the most part b
I'd rather spend the extra 10-20% for the 860 EVO or MX500. Screw QLC & SSDs without dram caches in general.
Just bought a 1tb Samsung 860 QVO, £109 online. What with the tlc's qvc's and what not, it's a bit mind boggling for the average pc user. This is my first venture in SSD. I am still trying to get my head around, m.2 V NAND, NVME, TBW, slc, it's doing my head in.
so in short what's the main difference and which is better?
So glad that nose rings are still rare.

I will use everyday bread SSD but Samsung just about every other SSD as much cheaper and just as good as quality I'll pass I just bought a Western digital blue SSD 1tb $119 try to get the Samsung for that price
Very brave statement that SSD kicks out of HDD👍👍👍👍👍👍. Waiting for the moment comes true.
Very good info guys!
So what’s memory is better
great video and informative. easy to listen, good tempo, clear speech. wish to see more!
Will this SSD work on my late 2009 iMac?
Great video, but does this drive slow down when it reads large files like when it writes
Very informative video! Thanks!
I know you're speaking English but it sounds like a foreign language to a newbie like me. Thanks but no thanks guys. I'm gonna go find someone else who actually understands that there are more people out there than computer geeks.
5:01 Ouch. That's quite a bit slower. So much for putting Amazon's " 4tb Samsung 860 QVO 4TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD" inside a PS4 Pro or an X1X. Guess I'll have to stick with an internal 2tb hdd inside the console and an external 8tb HDD. USB speeds seem to be faster than internal anyways.
Unprecedented review!! Is this the reason that you guys cannot agree on BRIXIT either amongst yourselves or with the EU?!!! When are you guys gonna learn to talk in plain English that the world can understand!!??
I couldn't follow…
I got a 2tb qvo for 240$. Find me another SSD with 2tb for that cheap NEW.
I can input 2hhd so Can I input 2ssd?
Nicely done video.
